Fall Reunion

This past weekend we traveled down to Benton, IL to visit Brett's Aunt Ellyn & Uncle Gary and the rest of the family for the annual Fall Reunion. As most know, we have a family reunion in Colorado each summer, and this is another nice get together for everyone to see each other.

Brett's family is so wonderful and I just love that everyone makes the effort to get together multiple times a year. With everyone living all over the U.S. it's great to see these people once a year, and even better when we can see them twice!

I have to say that traveling in a car with a 2 month old is not as exciting as you may have thought... Joey pretty much had "had it" with his car seat by the time we got to Champaign, which is still about 3 hours from Benton. Needless to say we were ALL ready to get out of the car when we got to Gary & Ellyn's!

Thank you Gary & Ellyn for opening your home and hosting us all!
We're a big crowd and you're always so gracious to have us!
Mia loves dressing up like her "Wexi!"
Joey meets Sara for the first time. He also scored an awesome IU jumpsuit that we will be dressing him up in ASAP!
Caitlyn gets to hold Joey!
Aunt Ellyn gets some Joey time. Our baby boy was so good about being passed around. :)

In other news... our dog Millie had her first weekend "away" from her family. Since Marlene & Sil were with us in Benton, and my parents were also out of town in Florida for the weekend, we had no other option but to board her at the "Dog House of Barrington." After an initial failure of her temperament test...

Tangent:
(she failed!? Really? OUR Millie?! Makes me understand all the challenges from parents I've had when I've given a bad test grade! OUTRAGE! MY child does NOT fail!)

... Millie ended up having a wonderful weekend, passed a second temperament test on Saturday, got to play with the other dogs, and came home well rested, and very happy. We were so glad we gave the kennel a chance, and know we'll send her back there in a heartbeat... maybe just for more playtime :)

Exhausted! Yippee!!
